Shipping and Delivery Policy

Folk Objects / NielRay Ventures Private Limited

Last updated: 12/05/2026

1. Introduction

1.1. This Shipping and Delivery Policy ("Policy") explains how NielRay Ventures Private Limited, operating under the brand name Folk Objects ("Folk Objects", "we", "us", or "our"), manages shipping, dispatch, delivery, and related services for products purchased or enquired about through https://www.folkobjects.com/ ("Website") or any other digital interface provided by Folk Objects.

1.2. This Policy applies to Folk Objects-branded products, including furniture, lighting, rugs, textiles, decor, tabletop, lifestyle objects, and related products.

1.3. This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Returns, Exchanges and Cancellation Policy.

2. Shipping Scope

2.1. Folk Objects offers shipping across serviceable locations in India.

2.2. We also accept international orders and international shipping requests, subject to serviceability, product category, order size, documentation requirements, customs requirements, logistics feasibility, and applicable laws.

2.3. International delivery timelines, shipping charges, duties, taxes, customs requirements, insurance, documentation, and import-related costs will be confirmed on a case-by-case basis before order confirmation.

2.4. We reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or modify any order where delivery is not feasible due to logistical, regulatory, operational, customs-related, or other constraints.

3. Product Types and Dispatch Timelines

3.1. Folk Objects offers both Ready-to-Ship Products and Made-to-Order Products.

3.2. Ready-to-Ship Products are typically dispatched within 5-10 working days after order confirmation and payment confirmation, unless otherwise communicated in writing.

3.3. Made-to-Order Products are typically dispatched within 6-12 weeks after order confirmation, payment confirmation, and approval of all relevant details, including product, size, finish, quantity, specifications, and delivery address.

3.4. Certain products, categories, finishes, customisations, project orders, or international shipments may require longer timelines. Any product-specific or order-specific timeline communicated on the product page, quotation, invoice, estimate, or written communication shall apply.

3.5. Dispatch timelines are different from delivery timelines. Dispatch refers to the point at which the product leaves our warehouse, studio, supplier location, logistics hub, or other designated dispatch point.

4. Order Confirmation

4.1. For enquiry-led orders, submission of an enquiry, wishlist, project form, contact form, or product request does not constitute an order.

4.2. An order is confirmed only when Folk Objects issues a written order confirmation, quotation acceptance, proforma invoice, tax invoice, payment confirmation, or other written confirmation.

4.3. For Made-to-Order Products, production will begin only after advance payment and written confirmation of all relevant order details, including product, finish, size, quantity, specifications, and delivery information.

4.4. Any delay in approval, payment, information sharing, site readiness, or customer confirmation may affect production, dispatch, and delivery timelines.

5. Shipping Charges

5.1. Shipping charges are decided on an order-to-order basis.

5.2. For B2B, trade, hospitality, interior, project, and institutional orders, product prices are generally exclusive of taxes, shipping, delivery, installation, and other charges, unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.

5.3. For B2C orders, shipping may either be included in the product price or charged separately, depending on the product, order value, location, delivery mode, and terms displayed or communicated at the time of order.

5.4. Shipping charges may depend on product category, order size, volume, weight, delivery location, mode of transport, packaging requirement, handling requirement, insurance, and serviceability.

5.5. Any applicable taxes, duties, octroi, local levies, customs charges, import duties, documentation charges, storage charges, remote-area charges, or special handling charges shall be payable by the customer unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.

6. Payment Before Dispatch

6.1. Folk Objects may withhold production, packing, dispatch, delivery, installation, documentation, or handover until applicable payments are received and reconciled.

6.2. Where an order is subject to balance payment before dispatch, the order will be dispatched only after the balance payment is received, unless Folk Objects agrees otherwise in writing.

6.3. Delay in payment may result in delay in dispatch or delivery.

7. Delivery Partners and Delivery Responsibility

7.1. Folk Objects works with third-party logistics providers, courier partners, freight forwarders, transporters, warehouse partners, and delivery service providers for shipping and delivery.

7.2. While delivery may be carried out through third-party logistics partners, Folk Objects will coordinate the delivery process for orders accepted by us, subject to the terms of this Policy.

7.3. In certain cases, customers may be offered the option to collect products from a Folk Objects warehouse, studio, logistics hub, or other designated location, where such option is available and agreed in writing.

7.4. Where the customer chooses self-pickup or appoints its own transporter, delivery, transit risk, insurance, and onward handling terms will be confirmed separately in writing.

8. Delivery Timelines

8.1. Delivery timelines are indicative and depend on dispatch location, delivery location, mode of transport, product category, logistics partner, shipment size, customer availability, and other operational factors.

8.2. Folk Objects will make reasonable efforts to deliver products within the estimated timelines communicated to you. However, delivery timelines are estimates and not guarantees.

8.3. Delivery may be delayed due to factors including production delays, material availability, quality checks, packaging requirements, weather, strikes, road restrictions, customs, regulatory checks, customer unavailability, incorrect address, restricted site access, remote locations, logistics disruptions, or force majeure events.

8.4. Folk Objects shall not be liable for delays caused by factors beyond its reasonable control.

9. Partial Shipments

9.1. Orders may be shipped in multiple consignments or partial shipments where required for operational, cost, safety, serviceability, or timeline reasons.

9.2. Multi-category orders, project orders, large orders, Made-to-Order Products, and orders involving multiple dispatch points may naturally be delivered in separate shipments.

9.3. Customers may also request partial shipments in writing. Any additional shipping, handling, packaging, storage, or administrative charges arising from such request may be charged separately.

9.4. Partial delivery of an order does not entitle the customer to cancel the balance order unless expressly agreed in writing or required under applicable law.

10. Doorstep Delivery and Installation

10.1. Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, delivery is limited to doorstep delivery.

10.2. Doorstep delivery means delivery to the main entrance, building gate, lobby, warehouse receiving point, site entrance, or other reasonably accessible delivery point, depending on the location and logistics feasibility.

10.3. Doorstep delivery does not include unpacking, assembly, installation, wall mounting, electrical fitting, styling, placement inside the home or site, debris removal, or movement to higher floors unless expressly agreed and charged separately.

10.4. Installation services may be available for certain products or locations and will be charged separately.

10.5. The customer is responsible for ensuring that the delivery site is ready and accessible, including lift access, staircase access, doorway clearance, floor access, receiving personnel, permissions, parking, loading/unloading access, and site safety.

11. Failed Delivery, Re-Delivery and Additional Charges

11.1. Additional charges may apply in case of failed delivery, re-delivery, storage, detention, incorrect address, customer unavailability, restricted access, delayed receiving, refusal to accept delivery, remote delivery location, floor carry, absence of lift, special handling, or any other circumstance requiring additional logistics effort.

11.2. For B2B, trade, hospitality, interior, project, or institutional orders, such additional charges may be billed separately and shall be payable by the customer.

11.3. For B2C orders, additional charges may be communicated before re-delivery or further action, where applicable.

11.4. Folk Objects may withhold further delivery attempts, installation, handover, or related services until such additional charges are paid.

12. Delivery Inspection and Reporting Issues

12.1. The customer or authorised recipient must inspect the shipment at the time of delivery.

12.2. Any visible damage to packaging, missing cartons, incorrect products, broken items, tampering, or obvious transit damage should be noted on the delivery receipt, proof of delivery, transporter document, or communicated to the delivery partner at the time of delivery, wherever possible.

12.3. You must report any visible transit damage, missing items, incorrect products, or delivery discrepancy to Folk Objects within 24-48 hours of delivery at hello@folkobjects.com.

12.4. The report should include:

      (a) order number or invoice number;

      (b) delivery date;

      (c) clear photographs and videos of the outer packaging before opening;

      (d) clear photographs and videos of the damaged or incorrect product;

      (e) photographs of labels, carton markings, waybill, or shipping documents;

      (f) description of the issue.

12.5. Claims reported after the inspection window may be rejected, especially where the delay affects our ability to verify transit damage, packaging condition, logistics handling, or delivery discrepancy.

12.6. Products should not be used, installed, altered, repaired, assembled, discarded, or moved further until Folk Objects has had a reasonable opportunity to review the issue.

13. Packaging

13.1. Folk Objects takes reasonable care to ensure that products are packed appropriately for the product category, delivery mode, and destination.

13.2. Packaging may vary depending on product type, size, fragility, delivery location, shipment mode, and logistics requirements.

13.3. Customers must retain all original packaging, labels, cartons, protective materials, tags, and shipping documents until inspection is complete and any issue has been resolved.

13.4. Failure to retain packaging may affect our ability to assess a damage claim, return request, exchange request, insurance claim, or logistics dispute.

14. Risk of Loss or Damage

14.1. For orders delivered by Folk Objects or our appointed logistics partners, risk of loss or damage passes to the customer upon delivery to the delivery address, receiving point, site, warehouse, building entrance, or other agreed delivery location.

14.2. For self-pickup orders or orders where the customer appoints its own transporter, risk may pass to the customer upon handover to the customer, its representative, or its appointed transporter, as agreed in writing.

14.3. Once delivery is completed, Folk Objects shall not be responsible for damage caused by improper handling, storage, movement, installation, unpacking, site conditions, misuse, negligence, third-party handling, or warehouse/site damage.

15. International Shipping

15.1. International orders are accepted on a case-by-case basis.

15.2. For international orders, shipping charges, duties, taxes, customs clearance, documentation, insurance, freight, handling, destination charges, local delivery, and doorstep delivery costs will be quoted or communicated separately.

15.3. Folk Objects may assist with international doorstep delivery where feasible, but all related costs will be charged separately unless expressly included in the written order terms.

15.4. The customer is responsible for providing accurate consignee details, import information, tax identification numbers, customs documents, delivery details, and any other information required for international shipment.

15.5. International delivery timelines are indicative and may be affected by customs clearance, inspections, documentation, port congestion, airline or shipping line delays, destination country rules, local delivery partners, or other factors beyond our control.

15.6. Folk Objects may refuse or cancel any international order where the product, destination, documentation, or delivery requirement is not serviceable or legally permissible.

16. Customer Responsibilities

16.1. Customers are responsible for:

      (a) providing accurate billing, shipping, contact, GST, tax, consignee, and delivery details;

      (b) ensuring site readiness and access for delivery;

      (c) ensuring that products can pass through doorways, lifts, staircases, corridors, gates, and receiving areas;

      (d) appointing an authorised person to receive the shipment;

      (e) inspecting products within the required timeframe;

      (f) retaining packaging until inspection is complete;

      (g) paying applicable shipping, taxes, duties, storage, re-delivery, handling, installation, or additional charges;

      (h) obtaining site permissions, society permissions, building permissions, entry permissions, and parking/loading permissions where required.

17. Force Majeure

17.1. Folk Objects shall not be liable for any delay, failure, interruption, or non-performance caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, floods, fires, epidemics, pandemics, strikes, labour disruptions, transport delays, supply chain disruptions, material shortages, war, terrorism, civil unrest, government actions, customs delays, regulatory restrictions, power failures, internet outages, cyber incidents, or failures of third-party service providers.
